How to create reports from Demand Insights

🎯 Goal

Turn Demand Insights data for landlord pitches, advisory briefings, internal market updates, or client-facing intel briefings.

❓ Why

Demand Insights is only as useful as what you can do with it. The reporting tools let you curate and filter the anonymised demand data into formats that sit neatly into valuable data you can use or pass on to your clients.

🔍 Overview

From within Demand Insights, you can configure a view (filter by sector, size, location, date range), save it as a report template. Templates can be re-run at any time, so recurring client reporting (e.g. monthly market updates) doesn't require rebuilding the view each cycle.

📊 Step-by-step

1. Build the view

In Demand Insights, apply filters — sector, size band, submarket, date range — until the view shows the data you want in the report.

2. Save as a report template

Click Save Report (or similar). Give it a meaningful name — "Legal sector W1 quarterly", "Tech sub-10k sq ft monthly" — so you can rerun it later.

4. Rerun the template next cycle

When you need the same report with fresh data, open the saved template and re-export. The filters remain, the data refreshes.

✅ You've done it when…

You have a report you run and rerun to keep a hold on changes to market trends using real-life data as evidence, and the underlying template is saved so next month's version takes seconds, not hours.

💡 Common mistakes & pro tips

  • Name templates meaningfully. "Report 1", "Report 2" becomes unusable as you accumulate templates. Use descriptive names.

  • Pre-filter tightly for client reports, looser for internal scanning. Clients want a clean story; internal consumers want the option to drill down.

  • Combine Demand Insights with your own transaction data for the sharpest landlord advisory; "here's what demand looks like and here's what we're seeing transact at".
