🎯 Goal
Update an existing disposal, availability, floors/units, marketing, landlord contact, confidentiality, so every channel Kato publishes to stays in sync automatically.
❓ Why
Property details change constantly: a floor lets, rent guides move, a new lease comes in at break. Editing the disposal record in one place keeps society, portals (Rightmove / Zoopla / EG / Novaloca), your website, and landlord reports in step, no manual reposting.
🔍 Overview
There are four common edit flows, and they all start from the same place, the disposal's Manage view. This article covers:
Updating availability (sizes, rents, floor/unit changes)
Managing floor/units as space is taken
Assigning or changing a landlord contact
Adjusting confidentiality and publishing status
📊 Step-by-step
Open the disposal for editing
Click Disposals in the left nav.
Search for the property address.
Hover over the result and click Manage.
Edit availability
Open the Availability tab. Update headline rent, service charge, business rates, tenure, whatever's changed. Changes flow automatically to society, portals, your website, and Radius.
Manage floor/units
Still on the Availability tab, scroll to Floor/Unit Breakdown. From here you can add a new floor, mark a floor as unavailable, or edit individual floor details. If a floor has let but the building still has availability, archive just that floor, not the whole disposal.
Add or change the landlord
Open the Management tab. Link the landlord company and contact from your CRM, or create new records on the fly. The landlord record controls who gets access to the Landlord Portal view of the Interest Schedule.
Update confidentiality or disinstruct
Also on the Management tab, toggle confidentiality flags (which control society/portal visibility) or mark the disposal as disinstructed if your agency no longer holds the instruction.
✅ You've done it when…
The change is reflected on the disposal summary card, and (if the disposal is published) in the society listing, portal feeds, and any live landlord Interest Schedule within a few minutes.
💡 Common mistakes & pro tips
Update both headline and floor/unit availability. Changing just the top-level headline size without updating floors leaves the record inconsistent.
Archive the floor, not the disposal, if one floor has let and the rest is still active, otherwise you lose visibility on remaining availability.
Disinstructed ≠ archived. Use "Disinstructed" status if the instruction has moved to another agent but you want to keep the record for intel purposes.
Check for unsaved changes - Kato prompts you before leaving a page with unsaved edits. Don't dismiss it on autopilot.
