🎯 Goal
Quick answers to the most common questions about Agent Societies, membership, publishing, match requests, Interest Schedules, and data privacy.
❓ Membership & access
Which society do I belong to?
Your society depends on your firm's seat(s): RLAS (Retail & Leisure), OAS (Office), IAS (Industrial), WEAS (West End Office), or CAS (City Office). Your Organisation Admin can confirm.
How many seats does my firm have?
Society seats are sold per user per year, renewing 1 April annually. Prices: RLAS £120, OAS £135, IAS £110, WEAS £150, CAS £150. Your Organisation Admin has your firm's seat count.
How do I add a new member of my team to society?
Seats are allocated by your firm's Organisation Admin.
Why aren't my contact details showing correctly?
Edit them in your profile (top right → profile). Updates propagate to the society members directory within a few minutes.
❓ Publishing & circulation
Why won't my disposal publish to society?
Check all required fields: Property Type, Summary (on Marketing tab), Key Points, Landlord Details, Lease Type, Rent Qualifier, Service Charge & Rates These can all be found under the Availability tab of your Disposal. Any missing field blocks circulation.
You will also be unable to publish if your Disposal's location falls outside of your Society's geographic boundary.
Why won't my requirement publish?
Company Sector and Reporting Date are both mandatory. If you've selected Comp Schedule or Market Research as the type, the requirement won't email members - that's by design.
How often can I recirculate?
Once per fortnight per disposal or requirement. Kato shows the next available recirculation date after each send.
Can I circulate a disposal or requirement without notifying every member?
Yes - when publishing or recirculating, select 'don't notify members'. The listing still appears in the society feed; they just don't get the direct email.
❓ Match requests & Interest Schedules
Why can't I see a disposal in my "Match my disposals" list?
Only disposals already published to your society appear. If you want to include one, publish it first.
What happens when I archive a match request?
Archived inbounds disappear from the Interest Schedule and don't show to the landlord. They're never displayed as "discounted" — they're invisible by design.
Do joint agents share Inbounds and Outbounds?
No. Each firm sees only its own inbound and outbound match requests on a joint-agent disposal. Confirmed matches, viewings and comments are shared.
Can I message other agents through Kato?
Yes — from any disposal, requirement, or match request. Messaging is agent-to-agent only and tied to the underlying record.
How do I add requirements to an Interest Schedule?
When a disposal agent sends match requests against your acquisition, the requirement automatically drops onto that disposal's Interest Schedule as an inbound/prospect.
❓ Notifications & privacy
How do I adjust my notification preferences?
Profile → Settings → Marketplace Preferences. You can set size, location, and sector filters so you only get society emails that match what you're working on or interested in.
Why am I getting emails about requirements outside my patch?
In some societies, the Default geographical boundaries are broad. Tighten them via notification preferences (above).
Who sees my data on society?
Society members see what you publish and circulate. Demand Insights anonymises requirement data before aggregating. Your internal CRM, contacts, and unpublished records are private to your firm.
Can I make a landlord confidential?
Yes - tick the 'mark landlord as confidential' on the disposal.
