How to search for your society members

Written by Max Kemplen

🎯 Goal

Find contact details for other agents in your society by firm, name, team, or specialism, whether to message them directly or call them about a disposal or requirement.

❓ Why

Society membership is, in effect, an opt-in directory of your market. When you need to speak to a specific agent at a specific firm, about a joint instruction, a counter-offer, or simply to introduce yourself, the members directory is the fastest route.

🔍 Overview

From the Society Dashboard, access the Society Members section. Search by person, firm, or specialism. Each member profile shows contact details, their firm's published disposals and requirements, and any contactable phone/email where the member has opted in.

📊 Step-by-step

1. Open Society Members

From the left nav, click your society → Members

2. Search

  • By person - type a name

  • By firm - type the agency name

  • By region - filter by submarket focus

3. View member profile

Click a member to see their profile: firm, job title, team, contact details (email / phone where visible), recent society activity (disposals or requirements they've been involved in), and links to message them in-platform.

4. Download the members list (optional)

If you need the directory offline, look for the Download Members List option on the members index - exports in CSV or Excel format subject to society permissions.

✅ You've done it when…

You've found the member or firm you're looking for and can either message them in Kato or call/email them with the contact details on their profile.

💡 Common mistakes & pro tips

  • Respect opt-out preferences. Some members withhold direct phone/email in favour of platform messaging - use that route if they've chosen it.

  • Check recent activity. A member's disposals/requirements in the last 90 days tell you what they're actively working - often more useful context than job title.

  • Use platform messaging for deal-related queries. Keeps the conversation tied to the relevant disposal/requirement record.
