Society Renewals - Access Expired

Some frequently asked questions to help, should you forget to renew

The billing cycle for each Society runs from 1st April to 31st March.

Renewals are on an opt-in basis. Should you not opt in, your membership will

automatically be terminated.

The new billing year has begun - why can’t I access the system?

The society billing year runs from 1st April to 31st March.
If you no longer have access, it means your subscription has lapsed and was not renewed before the new billing year began.


Why has my subscription lapsed if I didn’t receive any communication?

We have made multiple attempts to contact all society members regarding renewal, including:

  • Email notifications from both the committee (to all members) and from Kato (to organisation admins)

  • In-app messages/banners

  • Telephone outreach (as a final step, where possible)

If you believe you may have missed these communications, please check your email spam/junk folders.


What do I need to do to regain access?

Your organisation admin will need to purchase a seat for you. Head to ​https://os.agency.kato.app/marketplace/join to request access, and they will receive a notification to purchase your seat.

If you are an organisation admin, you can head straight to https://settings.kato.app/society/members/


Will my disposals or acquisitions be removed?

No - your data (including disposals and acquisitions) will remain safe and unchanged while you re-enable access.


How quickly will I regain access (non-admin user)?

Access is restored once the following steps are completed:

  1. You request a seat here

  2. Your organisation admin receives a notification

  3. Your organisation admin purchases a new set of seats here

  4. Your organisation admin assigns the seat to you here*

* In certain curcumstances the society committee members will need to approve your seat before you have access. The timing is completely dependent on the committee members actioning.


How quickly will I regain access (admin user)?

Access is restored once the following steps are completed:

  1. You purchase a new set of seats here

  2. You assign the seats here*

Where can I see which societies I’m part of?

You can view your societies from your dashboard:

  • A branded society banner appears at the top of the screen

  • If you belong to multiple societies, a dropdown menu will list them

I am already a member of a society; how do I join an additional one?

Your organisation admin will need to purchase a seat for you. Head to ​https://os.agency.kato.app/marketplace/join and click on the add society button on the top right of the page to request access. The organisation admin will receive a notification to purchase your seat.
