What is Atlas, and how is it different from other comparable data products?
Atlas is a new data product built by Kato, exclusively for CRE agencies.
It’s powered by high-quality lease and sale transactions already stored in Kato, all searchable, filterable, and exportable in seconds.
Atlas helps you find higher-quality comparables, uncover new opportunities, and better market your success.
What datasets does Atlas contain?
At launch, Atlas focuses on lease and sale records (when Available and Completed Transactions).
The goal is to create the most complete and accurate CRE transaction dataset through a shared contributory model for agencies only.
After launch, we’ll expand these datasets with additional third-party data.
Who is Atlas for?
Atlas is available only to agencies, including leasing, investment, rating, advisory, and valuation teams.
Only contributors have access, subject to agreed non-competes.
Investors, tenants, fit-out companies, or other competing parties will not have access.
Who owns the data in Atlas?
You, the contributor, retain ownership of your raw data.
Atlas is licensed to centralise, normalise, augment, and distribute it to other Atlas users under contribution and licensing agreements.
How secure and private is our data?
Data security and confidentiality are core to Atlas.
We operate with strict privacy protocols, tiered access controls, and full audit trails to ensure your data is only shared in the ways you agree to.
What is the commercial model for Atlas?
Atlas is an annual subscription with pricing based on user bandings.
The model is fair, transparent, and reinvested in improving the system.
There’s also the option to buy annual licenses for data access via APIs and files.
Will Atlas compete with my own data or insight services?
No. Only agencies can view Atlas data.
You’ll gain access to the rest of the market’s data while continuing to use and share your own.
Atlas is a more efficient way to exchange and validate data with your peers.
How is Atlas governed?
Kato operates under a Charter developed with leading agencies and Agent Societies.
This ensures alignment, transparency, pricing controls, and trust across the industry.
What happens if Kato no longer operates Atlas?
If Kato steps back, Atlas will continue under a new trusted operator, ensuring ongoing access and data integrity.
Your contributed data remains protected, and the shared data standard continues uninterrupted.
Why should we trust Kato to manage Atlas?
Kato has a strong track record in CRE workflow software and data solutions.
Our commitment to collaboration and transparency is shown through initiatives like the Society Marketplace.
We prioritise long-term partnerships over short-term gains.
How often is data updated?
Atlas updates in real time as new transactions are added to Kato.
What additional value does Atlas provide?
You gain access to the market’s full set of comparables, validated by the community.
Atlas makes it easy to find transaction data, generate instant reports, and integrate with your existing Kato workflows.
How do we contribute data?
Enter new transactions directly via the Lease and Sale sections in Kato.
Share data through your existing Kato workflows (e.g. marking Interest as Completed).
For external systems, we can set up API integrations or spreadsheet imports.
Will Atlas integrate with our existing systems?
Yes.
APIs allow you to write data to Kato to avoid double entry.
Optional APIs and files (available via license) enable integration directly into your systems.
We also integrate with preferred partners such as Valos.
What is the expected ROI?
Atlas gives you access to UK-wide transaction data, enabling new business development, enhanced client reporting, and faster validation.
Atlas Rankings also help market your success.
Can other organisations see our market intel?
No. Market intel is visible only within your organisation.
Only transactions you act on and share are visible externally.
Can we control who sees our data?
Yes.You can configure visibility settings to determine what’s public, selective, or private.
Transactions can only be hidden under NDA conditions, with mandatory fields required for Rankings visibility.
How do we get started?
Your Account Manager will guide you through onboarding, training, and contracts.
Once signed, you’ll receive access.
If you already use Kato, your login credentials remain the same.
What data fields are mandatory or required for Rankings?
See the sheets labelled Letting Fields and Sales Fields.
What if I see incorrect data?
You can flag incorrect data and leave comments directly within Atlas.
A member of the Kato team and the contributing agent will be notified.
Will there be a mobile version?
At launch, Atlas will not have a native mobile app.
However, the platform is fully responsive and works across all major devices and screen sizes.
As a retail agent, I’m less concerned with rent per sq ft and more interested in rent per Zone A, B, and C. Will this information be available in Atlas?
Yes, Atlas is designed with retail agents in mind and will include rental data broken down by Zone A, B, and C where available. This ensures you can make accurate like-for-like comparisons in line with standard retail valuation practices.
Do I need to be a member of a Society to purchase Atlas?
No. If you purchase Atlas, you will have access regardless of Society membership.
Will Atlas feed deal data to other comparable data platforms?
No. Atlas’ integration with over 700 commercial agencies is unique to Kato and is designed to give users a competitive edge, unlike other platforms that rely on manual processes or third-party feeds.
Will I be able to access Retail Comps if I’m not a member of RLAS?
Yes. If you purchase Atlas, you will have access to Retail Comps even if you’re not an RLAS member. Atlas can be bought separately from the Societies.
Will I be able to search for upcoming lease events in a specific location?
Atlas will include extensive filters, including lease end and break date filters. These will be particularly useful for business development as they allow you to quickly identify upcoming lease events and target opportunities in specific locations.
