How to add Leases to Atlas Rankings

Written by Max Kemplen

🎯 Goal

Make your published transactions eligible for Atlas Rankings β€” the live leaderboards showing activity by deals, value, and sq ft transacted β€” by completing the required ranking fields on each record.

❓ Why

Rankings are how your agency's success gets marketed within Atlas and the wider CRE community. A published transaction without ranking fields counts as a contribution but doesn't help your ranking position. Filling the ranking fields takes a few minutes and puts your deals on the board.

πŸ” Overview

Rankings eligibility is a specific set of fields on top of the headline publishing data. Different record types (leases / sales / investments) have different ranking field requirements.

πŸ“Š Ranking fields by transaction type

Leases

  • Transaction type (new let / renewal / assignment / etc.)

  • Headline rent

  • Total size

  • Lease start date

  • Lease length

  • Lease end date

  • Your agent's name(s)

Sales

  • Tenure

  • Purchase price

  • Total size

  • Your agent's name(s)

Investments

  • Tenure

  • Purchase price

  • Total size

  • Your agent's name(s)

πŸ“Š Step-by-step

  1. Open Leases or Sales β†’ Atlas Publishing tab.

  2. Go to the Published – Not on Rankings view. These are transactions already published that just need ranking fields added to qualify.

  3. Click into each transaction and review the Atlas ranking information section.

  4. Fill the missing ranking fields.

  5. Save. The transaction should move to Published – On Rankings.

βœ… You've done it when…

Your transaction appears in the Published – On Rankings saved view and is counting toward your agency's Atlas Ranking position.

πŸ’‘ Common mistakes & pro tips

  • Size must be total size. Partial let? Total size on the transaction record should match what was let, not the whole building.

  • Headline rent is pre-incentives. Net effective rent is a different field; headline rent is what appears in the rankings.

  • Run the Published β€” Not on Rankings view monthly. Quick hygiene sweep β€” completing a few fields per record can lift your team meaningfully in the rankings.

  • Atlas governance scores volume, accuracy, timeliness, completeness. Ranking eligibility ties into completeness β€” another reason to chase it.
