How to search, sort and filter Sale records

Written by Max Kemplen

🎯 Goal

Find the sale records you need from your agency's transaction history, for comp schedules, client pitches, ranking submissions, or internal analysis.

❓ Why

A sales library only creates value if you can interrogate it. "Who sold what at what yield in Birmingham last year?" should be a five-second question, not a five-hour spreadsheet reconciliation. Search and filter turn the library into answers.

πŸ” Overview

The Sales section supports free-text search, structured filters, sorting, and saved views. Default views cover the Atlas publishing lifecycle plus common cuts.

πŸ“Š Step-by-step

1. Open Sales from the left-hand nav.

2. Use default saved views

  • Ready to publish β€” meets mandatory Atlas fields

  • Not ready to publish β€” missing mandatory info

  • Published – Not on Rankings β€” live on Atlas, needs ranking fields

  • Published – On Rankings β€” fully qualified

3. Filter

Common useful filters: transaction date range, location, property type, size range, price range, tenure, purchaser, agent name, investment / owner-occupier designation.

4. Search

Free-text search by address, purchaser, vendor, or reference.

5. Sort

Click column headers to sort β€” transaction date, price, size, address, yield.

βœ… You've done it when…

You have the precise cohort of sales on screen β€” ready to export, report on, or drill into.

πŸ’‘ Common mistakes & pro tips

  • Separate investments from owner-occupier sales. They behave differently in comps and rankings. Filter by type.

  • Use price per sq ft, not headline price, for comparability. Most filter/sort operations support both β€” pick the right one for your question.

  • Save repeat searches as views.

  • Yield and tenure filters are your friends for investment work β€” invest 30 seconds in getting them set up correctly.
