Create a lease record in Kato, capturing a completed letting transaction as a single, searchable, reportable record that can feed your own comparables library, your agency's rankings, and (if published) the wider Atlas platform.

❓ Why
Every lease you complete is future intelligence. Stored properly in Kato, it's there when you or a colleague need a comp schedule, or when you want to benchmark your team's activity. Storing at the moment of close-out means accuracy, completeness, and no double-entry later.
🔍 Overview
Two common routes to store a lease:
From close-out of a live disposal or requirement: the natural flow if you managed the deal in Kato. Kato pulls through existing data.
Direct via the Leases section: using Create forms. Useful if you didn't track the live deal in Kato but still want the record in the system.
📊 Route A — Store from close-out of a live disposal
Open the disposal.
From the Interest Schedule, change the match's status to Signed. Kato opens the transaction form automatically.
Alternatively, from Actions menu, pick Record a lease (whole disposal) or from the Availability tab, use the status dropdown on a specific space.
Complete the close-out form — Kato pre-fills what it already knows.
Click Save or Save & Publish to Atlas.
📊 Route B — Store directly via the Leases section
Click Leases in the left-hand nav.
Go to the All tab.
Click Create New (top right) → select the lease option.
Complete the Create Form with the transaction details.
Save. Or Save & Publish to Atlas if you're ready to contribute to market data.

Address
Property type
Transaction date
Our Acquisition / Our Disposal designation
For Atlas Rankings eligibility, add: Transaction type, Headline rent, Total size, Lease start date, Lease length, Lease end date, Your agent's name(s).
✅ You've done it when…
The lease appears in your Leases list, searchable and filterable. If you chose to publish, it's also visible on Atlas.
💡 Common mistakes & pro tips
Store at close-out, not later. Memory of exact terms fades fast. Create the record while the information is in front of you.
Fill the Ranking fields. Publishing without them means the lease won't count toward Atlas Rankings — a wasted contribution.
Use "Record a lease" on the Availability tab for partial lets — not the whole-disposal Actions menu. Getting this right keeps the disposal live for the other unlet space.
NDA lets aren't excluded from Kato — store them anyway, just mark them confidential. Your internal reporting needs them.
