Goal

Maximise the potential of Kato's email marketing features by providing your contact marketing lists, allowing you to efficiently manage and send campaigns directly from the system, ensuring streamlined communication and better engagement with your audience.

Why

To best utilise our email marketing features we recommend you send us your contact marketing lists so you can maintain them and email them from the system.

Uploading Marketing Lists

Download our spreadsheet loader

Start by organising your marketing lists into our loader format (download the spreadsheet below).

Ensure that your spreadsheet adheres to Kato's documented structure, maintaining all necessary columns, even if some fields remain unused. Double-check the formatting to avoid errors during upload.

Requirements for a successful Import.

Avoid adding generic or placeholder values to the required fields, as this can result in invalid contacts being stored in the system. Such entries do not contribute effectively to your campaigns and can disrupt the upload process.

Every contact requires the below:

  • Email or phone number

  • First or Last name

  • Marketing Opt In

  • GDPR; Consent given

  • GDPR; Consent source

  • Marketing List Name: Assign a name ensuring that one Excel document corresponds to a single list

We recommend you also include:

  • Company (if relevant)

  • Type (agent, applicant, landlord, etc)

Once you are happy you can send us the marketing list via the live chat, we will ask you to confirm:

  • You have permission to store the contacts

  • You have permission to bulk email these contacts

  • The name of the marketing list (so it's easy to find later)

Warning: If the contacts you provide already exist in the system then their contact details will remain.

The only thing your spreadsheet loader will be doing in that scenario is attaching the existing contact record to your new marketing list.
